Coastal & Southeastern Landscapes

Like many, I am inspired by the great natural beauty of the coastal landscapes of the southeast. Draped in exquisite light, like the Spanish moss hanging in weeping garlands, the marsh islands, beaches, and maritime forest offer a serenity that I find refreshing.

In creating these images I am trying to share both my love of this environment, and its natural resources, with the intent to rekindle within the viewer the importance of protecting this disappearing landscape.

Thank you for taking the time to check out the site and the artwork.

Sunrise in the Lowcountry is an amazing time of the day.

A Lowcountry sunrise with migrating birds.

Dawn on the jetty.

Sunrise on the beach where I can walk undisturbed.

A springtime day, spent looking at the trees ...inspired by their lines and beauty.

Digital Art

In my digital art, I am trying to create my own cosmos; a universe of personal symbolism, abstraction and emotion. In creating the images, I have fun exploring the technology, pushing it as far as it can go, opening the door to a whole new world. I am amazed at how far computer graphics has come as a tool for artists. The work below highlights a few pictures I have created during what is termed 'the paint box era' in digital art.

About

Wynne is a fine art photographer whose compositions have surrealistic and futuristic overtones. He uses a broad range of graphics programs to full exploit the medium to extract the visual effects he is seeking. His work is often as intense in emotion as it is in color. In his most recent photographic work he has become fascinated with the history, tranquility and on occasion the incongruous juxtapositions that reflect the surface of the South. He formats these images in a square format which is consistent with the rest, quietude, dignity, and timelessness he is seeking. The square format also allows for the ability to combine multiple photographic perspectives within the image, increasing the perceived sense of depth. Resulting in a vision more like memories of a place, or a riff from a blues guitar.

Wynne was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. He received a BFA from The Atlanta College of Art. A MFA from the School of Photographic Arts and Sciences, Rochester Institute of Technology.

Wynne's work has been featured and reviewed in numerous publications including a rare encore portfolio review in Computer Graphics World Magazine.
